Women's Football finally arrives on Football Manager 26 | Full details revealed
FM26 is opening the door to a new era with the addition of women's football, featuring a massive database of 36,000+ players and 5,000 staff across 4,000 teams and 14 playable leagues across 11 nations; and most importantly this is just the start.

In 2021, Sports Interactive have made a promise to bring Women's football to Football Manager, it's been a long road, there's been obstacles along the way but finally Project Dragonfly is finally being unveiled
The problem Sports Interactive have is its opened them up to discourse from a small but vocal part of the community, who although they can turn it off when starting saves, still express concern and skepticism and frustration about what they foresee as a waster of resources and some believe incorrectly that this was a leading factor to the delay and cancellation of FM25. This is incorrect, SI have stated that this has been in place since FM24 launch but wanted to incorporate it with the move to Unity.
What started as a promise became an endeavour to deliver an alternative ecosystem, gameplay, database and that should be applauded. So lets get into it!
Today, 18th September 2025, Football Manager released the video, introducing women's football.
The 14 playable leagues include the following 12 licensed competitions:
